About me ...
When I was working on my Master's Degree at the University of Michigan (UM) School of Social Work I had a very hard time choosing between clinical practice (or "micro" practice) and research, policy, and administration ("macro" practice) because I loved each aspect of social work. I chose a clinical degree with as many macro course hours as possible because I feel strongly about the importance of linking clinical practice and research and grounding all that I do in an evidence-base.
Once I discovered neurofeedback due to my own recovery from injury and migraine, I realized the reason change for many people is so hard. It is difficult - nearly impossible for some - to overlay a lot of talk therapy onto a brain that is not ready to receive the information. We must first correct the brain dysregulation, which neurofeedback facilitates, and then turn attention to behavioral solutions. I love what I do and I am honored to be able to help clients using proven tools to facilitate change.
My credentials include a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences from Western Michigan University (WMU), an MSW from UM and a Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, in Psychology from WMU.
